About Us

Our Boarding Philosophy

Our philosophy at the Creature Comfort Inn is simple: To provide a comfortable and safe environment for your pets to stay in while away from home.

While there is no place like home, we think we’ve come pretty close. Every boarding dog gets to be outside three to four times a day, either for a romp in one of our exercise areas or a walk with one of the staff. Many kennels feel they should charge extra to walk a dog; at Creature Comfort Inn, it’s the standard of care.

Dog Training

Our other specialty is dog training and owner education, something we have been doing as full-time professionals since 1974. During that time we have established and directed training programs for the Montgomery County Maryland Humane Society, worked with clients and their pets in the home, and in the kennel. We established a dog training school in 1984 through which we worked with thousands of owners and their dogs helping them get the most from the dog-human relationship. We have coached hundreds of dog-handler teams in their pursuits such as AKC obedience titles, agility, search and rescue, tracking, personal protection and Schutzhund competition.

Our training programs are under the direction of Kirby and Clare Hill, who between them have more than 60 years experience working with dogs and their owners.

We have fostered and retrained dogs for placement in new homes with both the Shenandoah and Warren county animal shelters.

How can we help you with your pooch?
