Guest Stay Requirements & Policies
Your pet’s happiness and well-being are our top priority! These Policies are in place to ensure that their stay is a safe and pleasant experience.
Vaccinations
We will refuse any pet that has been exposed to rabies or distemper within thirty days prior to boarding.
- Cats: CCI requires proof of Rabies & FVRCP vaccinations prior to boarding. The Feline leukemia vaccine is recommended, however, not required.
- Dogs: CCI requires proof of current Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccinations. We require a Bordetella vaccination yearly, a recommend that it be given at least two (2) weeks prior to your Pet’s arrival date to increase efficiency.
The Bordetella vaccine is not 100% effective and while CCI has taken special care in designing our facility and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety we make no guarantees in regards to the Bordetella vaccine. - Birds: All birds are required to have had a test for chlamydiosis (ornithosis, psittacosis, parrot fever) within the past year. If your bird does have psittacosis, he or she will be boarded in our isolation area if other guests are present in the boarding room.
We require that your pet be in good health when boarding with us, and require a recent physical examination provided by your vet. - Ferrets: CCI requires proof of current Rabies & Distemper vaccinations prior to boarding.
General Health
All guests must be healthy and free of any contagious illnesses. If your pet is exhibiting symptoms that may suggest illness such as sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny eyes or nose, vomiting, lethargy, or diarrhea, we will not be able to admit them for boarding.
All guests MUST be on an active flea and tick preventative. Dogs that are found to have fleas, ticks or other parasites will be treated by CCI at the owner’s expense.
Boarding may be stressful for some animals. A change in environment, water, different food as well as a noisy animal next door can sometimes cause stress-related colitis resulting in soft or loose stools. There is no known prevention for this condition. CCI staff will monitor your pet and if soft stools occur, will take the necessary actions to calm your pet’s stomach. We will contact you if veterinary care is needed.
If a pet becomes ill or if a pet’s behavior is endangering itself, humans, or other animals, CCI, at its sole discretion, may engage the services of a veterinarian. All attempts will be made to contact the Owner of the Pet first; however, in the event of an extreme emergency, the well-being of the pet comes first. Medication will be administered as necessary under the direction of a veterinarian.
******We do not board intact male cats, or female dogs that are in season.******
