“Critter” Care
Creature Comfort Inn offers boarding that you can trust for birds, pocket pets, and select exotic pets. Sometimes it is difficult to find a boarding facility that will tend to the needs of your unique pet and give them the attention that they require. And having family or friends care for exotics can be stressful for everyone involved.
Having fostered and rehabilitated a number of birds and sugar gliders along with various other types of pocket pets, Tammy oversees the care of the exotics here at CCI. Having been a Vet Assistant for a local Exotics Veterinarian, she personally ensures that your special family members have all their needs met while in our care.
Our facilities are sterilized between boarders and a rigorous cleaning schedule is followed daily or according to your specifications for your particular pet.
We have a quiet room in the central part of our building, away from the other boarders, specifically for the exotic pets. They have their own kitchen and refrigerator as well.
We recommend that you bring your pet’s cage, special food, bedding and toys with them to make the boarding experience as stress-free as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the boarding of your special family members please feel free to contact us to address your pets needs.

Requirements
All birds are required to have had a test for chlamydiosis (ornithosis, psittacosis, parrot fever) within the past year. Transmission of this disease between birds is primarily through inhalation of contaminated dust from droppings or feathers. Risk of infection is increased by close contact with infected birds that are shedding the organism. Infected birds may shed the organism even if no clinical signs of the disease are observed. Therefore, in order to protect all of our avian boarders and lower the risk of transmission, we require testing. If your bird does have psittacosis, he or she will be boarded in our isolation area if other guests are present in the boarding room.
We require that your pet be in good health when boarding with us, and require a recent physical examination provided by your vet.
